Clarke Basement Systems Case Studies: Basement Waterproofing When The Basement is Already Finished in Etobicoke, ON
Challenge
Our customers basement was finished and used as a living space. The customer opted for interior waterproofing in order to take care of the actual specific problem area. The basement had to have the cabinetry, drywall, and flooring removed in order to install our system.
Solution
Our customer opted for the interior waterproofing system because it is less expensive than excavating and replacing exterior waterproofing. When waterproofed from the inside, the affected area is treated permanently. We stress to our customers that exterior work is ALWAYS temporary. The exterior footing drain the customer had installed has already failed, at least once, is disruptive, and is difficult to replace. Additionally, it is more expensive than installing the WaterGuard System inside of the house. The west wall in the house had the wall materials, flooring, and cabinetry removed. the Waterproofing system was installed in one day. Our customer spent less money, and now has a MODULAR interior system he can add on to as time goes by.
