Clarke Basement Systems Case Studies: Foundation Failing in Whitby, ON
Challenge
On a brand new construction project it was found that the soil bearing the weight of the house was unstable, causing the front elevation of the house to sink and rotate out and away from the house.
The concerns for the builder was that traditional underpinning would take weeks and also would not be done in the winter. Lastly the cost of the underpinning would be far too out of reach to make the project profitable.
Solution
Inspector Steve Matthews decided that the Foundation Supportworks 288 PushPier would work for the customer meeting all the criteria of cost, time to install and weather. The project was done in 2 days verses the 2-3 weeks of underpinning, and the cost was less than a third of underpinning.
