Clarke Basement Systems Case Studies: Full Perimeter Waterproofing
Challenge
The homeowner had groundwater seepage throughout the finished basment and crawlspace of his home. The foundation was built from block. The groundwater had damaged wall material and flooring.
Solution
The decision was to provide Waterguard around the full perimeter of the basement and crawlspace encompassing 186 linear feet. It was connected to the SuperSump with the UltraSump battery backup. Since the crawlspace was used for storage and was not finished the Cleanspace wall system was installed on the walls to help reduce humidity, ensure wall leads drained to the Waterguard and create a vapor barrier to protect stored items. The Cleanspace also brightened the crawlspace.
The basement area was going to be finished and the homeowner opted to have the Basement to Beautiful panels installed. These graphite infused panels provided an insulated rating of R13 with metal studs and wiring chases built into the panels.
The discharge for the sump was buried and deposited the water to a drywell installed in the front yard. A Paladin heatline was included with the heatline to prevent it from freezing during winter months.
