Starting a home renovation can be a big undertaking. Your home is likely to be disrupted for a while, and there are a ton of costs and variables involved.

A customer in Bradford, Ontario, wanted to finish his basement. He needed the extra space and wanted to increase his home’s value. Water was seeping into the basement through the floor/wall joint and the block foundation walls. Looking for a proven solution with a transferrable warranty, the customer called Clarke Basement Systems. 

System Design Specialist Chris Luke travelled to the customer’s home and inspected his basement. He listened to what the customer wanted and designed a system to suit his needs.

Foreman Dave Jackson and his crew, Installation Specialists Alan Murphy and Bryan Richards, started by installing our patented WaterGuard® Drain System around the perimeter of the basement. This catches water where it seeps and drains it to the sump pump. The customer wanted a system he could add onto later, so we installed our TripleSafe® Sump Liner with an M53 pump. To stop moisture from seeping in through the walls, the space was encapsulated with ThermalDry® Wall Membrane, which also helps insulate the space.

The customer is looking forward to finally finishing his basement. He’s glad he chose Clarke Basement Systems for his repair and is happy to recommend us to friends and family.

A Basement Renovation Problem, Solved in Bradford, ON

This particular client had her heart set on renovating her basement. Shortly after she started, she ran into a big problem. She had a leak in her basement, coming through one of her walls. She needed this fixed ASAP, so she called Clarke Basement Systems to the rescue. We had our System Design Specialist, Chris Luke, go and assess the damage. Once he figured out the exact solution, we sent our Installation Foreman, Dave Jackson, to help her get back on track to her dream basement. In order to fix this leak, Dave installed a Thermal Drywall Membrane. This creates a preventative barrier that funnels the water into Waterguard®. The Waterguard® is installed underneath the basement floor into the ground to collect the water that was seeping through. This then gets transferred back into the M53 SuperSump® Plus. A Sump Pump collects the water, then ejects it back out of the house. We also installed an IceGuard® discharge line so that the water getting pumped out will not freeze during our cold Canadian winters. Now that the leak is gone, our customer can go back to renovating her basement with no more worries.
