Clarke Basement Systems Case Studies: The Owl Conservatory Falling down a Hill.
Challenge
This project posted a very special challenge. The Tenants! The Owl Conservatory is a center was founded by Kay and Larry McKeever in 1970. Here they tirelessly have built a beautiful habitat to house and take care of these remarkable animals. This water front property is home to many buildings all homes for owls and storage buildings. The Building that was in trouble was one that was build on a step slope which was starting to tilt and slide towards the lake. Kay and Larry are truly beautiful people and not only did the not want the birds to be disturbed we were required to cause as little damage to there grounds as possible. We were up to the task!
Solution
First we needed to engineer a solution that could be installed with minimal damage to the grounds as well as be installed while working on a steep slope.
We needed to access and repair a very old, very damaged footing so we could install 16 Helical Pier Standard Assembly to lift and stabilize this building to prevent further damage or building loss!
